It is with some pride that HIGHVOLT looks back at more than 110 years of tradition. One of its predecessor companies was Transformatoren- und Röntgenwerk (the Transformer and Radiography Plant), also known internationally by the abbreviation TuR.

During the time of TuR, important technical milestones took place such as what were at the time (1990) the world's largest high-voltage test systems with up to 3 megavolts of AC voltage, more than 7 megavolts of impulse voltage and 1.35 megavolts of direct voltage.

Former TuR employees came to the company to see for themselves that HIGHVOLT is continuing the tradition of innovation. "Of course, we have always kept up with developments at the company and we were particularly impressed with the award HIGHVOLT won as one of Germany’s most innovative medium-sized companies last year,” said Frank Köckritz, formerly himself at TuR and later also at HIGHVOLT. "Now we were given the opportunity to conduct a tour of the company. We were especially impressed by the high-voltage installations that have developed so rapidly thanks to HIGHVOLT,” Frank Köckritz continued.

The visitors were also surprised at how much the site had changed. Thanks to continuous company growth and the support of the City of Dresden, HIGHVOLT has invested heavily since 2008, the range extending from new offices and production halls and high-tech production plants to the refurbishment of the high-voltage hall, which is on the heritage list.
