Students from Kaiserslautern in Germany get a taste of working life at HIGHVOLT
Dresden, 5. September 2014On September 2, professor Karsten Glöser and sixteen of his electrical engineering students from the Kaiserslautern Technical College in Germany visited HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik GmbH Dresden. “We are committed to supporting practical training for students,” says Dr. Ralf Bergmann, managing director of HIGHVOLT. “It is important that during their studies students already gain first experiences of how to use their expertise and technical curiosity to contribute to the success of companies like HIGHVOLT.”
HIGHVOLT will be showing its AD3000 transient recorder at the Cigré 2014 Session
Cigré in Paris is the world's leading event in the area of energy systems. With 8,000 attendees in 2014, according to the organizer, Cigré is a "must-see," even for HIGHVOLT. "The conference and associated exhibits are extremely important for us. This is where we learn everything about the newest technological and technical developments. We can also catch up on the state of international standardization," says Thomas Steiner, Technical Director at HIGHVOLT.
HIGHVOLT calibration laboratory in Dresden receives additional accreditation for power and impulse current measurements
Dresden, 18th July 2014
"We have not only renewed our accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, but also significantly widened the scope of accreditation for our calibration laboratory,” says HIGHVOLT engineer Dr. Martin Greschner. "Alongside broadening of the measuring ranges used for the calibration of measuring equipment, we are now authorised to calibrate for additional electrical parameters.”
Company visit with excitement on both sides - Over 100 participants in the “Long Night of Industry” took the opportunity to learn more about HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik Dresden GmbH.
During a guided tour of the HIGHVOLT production centre and testing hall, all attention was focussed on high voltages and currents. “That is our business,” as HIGHVOLT engineer Stefan Schierig confirmed to the visitors when introducing the company. “HIGHVOLT develops and manufactures high voltage testing systems. Our customers then use these systems to generate extremely high AC, DC and impulse voltages, for example to test the quality of their transformers, high voltage cables and generators,” he explained.
High voltage test systems from HIGHVOLT –Innovative solutions for the whole world
“Experienced representatives and continuous development work are the decisive factors in HIGHVOLT's worldwide success. The representative seminar served especially to bring our representatives up to date on all the latest technical innovations, but at the same time also for mutual exchanges on developments in the branch,” says head of sales Alexander Kraetge, looking back over three information-packed days.
