This year's annual prize was awarded by Dresden University of Technology and HIGHVOLT to honour Mittrach's outstanding work within the framework of a degree dissertation on “Complex calibration for an unconventional loss measurement system”.

“This is the first time that the prize has been awarded to a young engineer who is an employee of our own company,” says a delighted Thomas Steiner, technical director at HIGHVOLT. “It can also be seen as proof that it is the right approach to support young specialists during their studies and to offer them opportunities to gain practical experience at the earliest possible stage.”

The HIGHVOLT Advancement Award was presented for the 7th time in 2014. The decision on the year's best electrical engineering dissertation rests with the faculty examination committee at TU Dresden.
